The 70D Cardback is similar in design to the two previous tri-logo cards, the 70B & C, but has the addition of a barcode on the front of the card. This barcode is located at the top right of the card beneath the ROTJ logo. The Lucasfilm copyright statement has also disappeared from the bottom left corner. The rear of the card is identical to the other 70-back cards, curiously this was not updated to show the new range of figures. Only the final release of 15 figures appeared on this particular cardback. In the USA, these figures were only released on the newly-designed 'power of the force' cards, and are often referred to as the 'power of the force' series of figures. Power of the force cards are not believed to have appeared at retail in the UK. All the 70D cards I have seen have Hong Kong as the stated country of manufacture on the card front. None appear to have the Lucasfilm copyright text in the bottom left corner. Neither do any appear to have been factory punched. |

| In the UK, figures from this range can often be found with a large
yellow sticker positioned in the top left of the card. This bears the text 'New figure
£1.59'. It is believed this was part of a promotion carried by several large UK retail
chains.
It would appear that the stickers were applied at the factory, as some examples have been found where the edge of the sticker lies under the bubble. |
