The 70A back card seems to have been a transition between the original Return of the Jedi 65-back series of cards and the later 70-back 'Tri-logo' card (defined as a '70B' or '70C' card on this site). The card has the same front as the 65-back cards, with the age warning in three languages. The rear of the card has the film title logo in three languages at the top left of the cardback, identical to the 'Tri-logo' card. The back of the card states 'collect all 70 but curiously the figures are numbered from 1 to 79. If you look closely there are several gaps in the numbering, and indeed only seventy figures are represented. Missing are the Cantina Aliens, Power Droid, Bespin Guards and Cloud Car Pilot. There were only ever a few figures available on the 70As card variation, these being three of the Cantina aliens (Snaggletooth, Hammerhead and Greedo) plus both Bespin Guards and the Cloud Car Pilot figure. Interestingly, these are also the figures not shown on the cardback. | ||
