The 65A card appeared with the release of the first seventeen figures from the film Return of the Jedi. The card features the film logo at the top of the card with a black border area beneath, similar to the 45B Empire Stikes Back cards. The 'ages 4 and up' warning on the card front is displayed in five languages (English, German, French, Dutch/Flemish? and Italian), indicating that these cards were intended to have a wide distribution through mainland Europe as well as in the UK. This feature may have been a pre-cursor to the 77-Back 'Tri-logo' cards which featured the film logo in three languages. The front of the card also has no manufacturer's logo, unlike the equivalent Kenner card and earlier Palitoy releases. The rear of the card shows the range of figures available, which has now increased to 65. The cardback also features the mail-away offer for the Nien Nunb figure already seen on the 45C cardback. The text of this offer has been adjusted and moved further down the body of the card in order to make room for the extra 20 figures shown above. The figure featured in this offer has not (yet) been seen on this cardback, and may not have been released. All of the other first released Jedi figures were available. None of the earlier Star Wars or Empire Strikes Back figures were released on this cardback, these had their own variant of the ROTJ packaging, the 45C and 65D cards. The bottom right of the cardback has the text '(ROJ2)', a logical follow up to the equivalent text on the 45C card which states '(ROJ1)'. All 65A cards appear to be factory punched. A similar card to the 65A is the 65B, which has a different copyright statement in the bottom left corner, but is otherwise identical. | ||
