The 70 back cards are better known as the 'Tri-logo' cards. This name derives from the film logo which is displayed in three different languages on the front of the card. This was the last style of cardback to be produced by Palitoy. At one time these cards were frowned upon by collectors, but recently there has been a growing interest in this variant and a number of rarities have commanded very high prices.

The 70B is the first of two versions of the standard tri-logo card. This card bears the lucasfilm copyright text in the bottom left corner, which is placed in the black border area beneath the bubble, with white text on a black background. This is the main difference from the 70C card which treats this area slightly differently.

The 70B seems to show up far more often than the 70C card, though as tri-logo cards seem to have been produced and retailed in many locations around the world this ratio may not be the same everywhere.

There are some quite significant tri-logo variations which were produced outside of the UK, in particular in Spain. I hope to document these at some point in a section looking at foreign cards and sticker variations.
